Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts

I picked up a couple of sewing books from the library to browse through and one of them was a big heavy book by Martha Stewart called Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts.  It has fantastic colorful pictures and sections on many different topics.

I like the first part of the book with sections on fabric glossary, good things for sewing,  embroidery and even a section on dyeing.  The book also has a good number of simple projects to make with nice photos of the finished projects.  I just found the book didn’t go into enough detail for a beginner to make any of the projects and those with sewing knowledge would find the book boring, filled with everything they had already figured out.

This is not a book I would add to my library.  Although. it was nice to look through.

I imagine Martha’s books to be more of the coffee table variety than a real resource ?
