Small Patchwork Drawstring Bag

I only had a small piece of fabric leftover from the colorful butterfly tote.  I wanted to make a small matching bag to go with it and decided to make a patchwork one.  I made this small drawstring bag from scraps of fabric.  I lined the bag with the same sage green material I used for the drawstring area.  The finished measurements are 7″H x 9″W.   The pattern is my own.  It’s a “patch together as you go” type project. Lots of fun!

I really enjoy creating bags and this one turned out perfect.  It is a nice size for make-up, a camera, sunscreen, your checkbook & pen, etc. – just about anything you put in your handbag.   It is easy to find quickly when digging in for something you need in a hurry.  You could even make this size out of fun material for kids marbles, crayons, and more.  And, the best thing is the cost was minimal!  Just scraps of fabric, a small piece of fabric for the lining and some ribbon for the drawstring.

Nice work. Patchwork is like a canvas where you can sew your brush strokes 🙂
