I just finished the 2nd book in Sue Henry’s Maxie McNabb series, The Tooth of Time. The 6o something, Maxie McNabb, and her dachshund, Stretch, travel to Taos, New Mexico in her Winnebago motor home. Maxie orders knitting yarn from a local shop in Taos called Weaving Southwest and has it shipped to her home in Alaska. Maxie wants to meet the owner in person, feel the yarn, and purchase more of her exquisite hand-dyed yarn. She also wants to learn how to weave. But, on her first day in town, she finds herself helping out a stranger in need, which leads to all sorts of problems. The distraught woman is thought to have tried to end her own life and Maxie offers to let her stay in the motor home with her for a few days. everything goes down hill from there.
I really enjoy Sue Henry’s books and can’t wait to start on the next book in this series, The Refuge.
