Murder at Medicine Lodge

Murder at Medicine Lodge by Mardi Oakley Medawar’ is book #3 in her Tay-bodal series.  I have not read book #1 or book #2 in the series, but I do have them on order through our library interloan system.

I found myself interested and hooked from the get go.  It is written about the Kiowa Indian Tribe during the 1867 Medicine Lodge Peace Treaty in Kansas.  Tay-bodal, an interestingly plain man and the main character of the book is also a healer or doctor for his tribe.  He finds himself in the middle of things without trying or wanting to be.  Some how it is up to him to figure out who killed the U.S. Army’s “blue jacket” bugler.

As a quick read I found myself wanting more and can’t wait to find out what I missed in her first two books.
